BR Shootout Hotel/Motel/Camping Question

I'm planning on finally going out there this year and wanted to know what the scenario is out there for places to stay. I'd like to be near the center of where it all goes down but I really have no idea where that is. I know its a long way off but I'd like to begin planning for this now. Anybody already have a place they are going to stay? Is there like a cruising scene at night? Any campgrounds? Can you camp at the track? These are all probably dumb questions but I don't want to end up staying someplace that is no fun at all.

Comfort Inn in Milan, OH is where everyone from NY/NJ usually stays (sans nate and his RV) :) You can camp at the track if you want, I think it's free.

I camped at the track in an RV, it was pretty sweet. Not sure if Im going to go this year, would be my 9th year. None of my group went last year, and while it was fun staying with my wife/son/fatherinlaw, I can do that in NJ without a $1000 gasoline bill.

Camping at track is free, but you have to pay admission to whatever events are going on through the day for every day your there. They come knocking on your door/tent at 8am every mornin collecting $

My cars aren't going to be fast enough to race any class this year for a win, so I don't think Im going to bother driving out to hang around by myself.

Its a bit early to count on people for any "real" numbers, but we usually end up with at least 15 people at the comfort inn from ny/nj. I plan on going again as always.

Nate- take a weekend away from the "fam" and come by yourself. The shootout is a lot more fun if you dont have the stress of running anyway. Hell you dont even have to drive just jump in someone else's car.

I'm definitely going to try and go this year. I had a blast last year with Ricky and Rick. Talk about last minute right Rick ha!!

Seriously though, do those of you going plan on heading out Friday afternoon? Do you usually come back on Sunday night or Monday morning? I know its still 6 months off but I'm all giddy like a damn school girl.
