Porting 2g head...

I'm considering on (maybe) keeping the 2g head for my 6 bolt build up, and was wondering if porting the head yourself is recommended.. I'm pretty proficient at a clean port job and have all the necessary bits (long and short shanked) to reach inside, but im worried that a regular port job won't cut it when it comes to performance gains.

anyone have insight?

it depends on what you want, there are plenty of people who have made over 500whp on stock heads, even 2g heads. I port matched and cleaned up the runners on my 2g head to match a 1g intake, and smoothed out the exhaust side a little bit, but I didn't touch the bowls or chamber. I changed too much to know how much of a difference it made.
