I just informed the people about the R32 and said congrats to the guy with the GVR4. Not my fault that guys put 16g's in their cars drop in here saying that VW's suck just because they're able to produce 300+whp now.

Really awesome for ya. It takes more than the r32's exhaust note and decent exterior styling for me to like it. I'm much smarter than that considering the typical VW driver. Performance wise, just a tad faster than a stock 2g. Wow, thats awesome. Heck, i smoked one with intake/exhaust from a stop to 100mph when i had my t25 on pumgas with just kn, mbc, turboback. Do you know how shitty of a turbo the t25 is? One of my good buddies has an 03 GTI 1.8t....clutch, boost controller, intake and 3inch tback and he netted a whopping 14.7 @ 97. His car has also been back to the dealership more times than seconds that it took him to go down the quartermile. Your car is fast killa, but most of the kind should be saved for the car show. You see more of them there anyway.

I hope you're not serious about asking me about the T25. I knew what a T25 was before you even had a license. A Garrett T25 will dwarf a BW K03 turbo. The 1.8t motor was designed to feel like a big motor so VW chose a very small turbo that would allow peak torque to be achieved at 1950rpm. They're a fucken joke, good for daily driver and that's all. The fact that you smoked a k03 equipped 1.8t means absolutly nothing. Even teh k04 sucks major balls, fucken thing is only rated at 240hp max :lol:
What are you gonna do next? compare boost too? They're totally different turbos, you should try to learn more about forced induction before opening your mouth and making yourself look like a retard.

Rather working on a honda than a VW: Personal preferences, i'd rather not work on either and go out and drink a couple of cold ones.
There's a whole bunch of vw gearheads that dont give a shit about the show-scene, those are the people i know an associate with. If you happen to know 1.8t owners that are into the show scene and who you've raced and beat then congrats for beating a car that comes equipped with a turbo whose compressor inducer is the size of a quarter. All i tell you is that my inducer is capable of shoving a couple of those things in there. And my engine bay is not clean.

Killa: Unless the platform is pretty heavily modded, those engines do seem to plateau pretty easily, and the engine mod market isnt incredibly large. If you want to see these vw's with mostly show mods, check out vortex, an amazing portion of that website are people with either 19's and bolt ons, or 15's and euro plates. For most of the public, we are going to see 100 dd vw's for every 1 heavily worked one like yours. This can be said for most cars, but then again, vw is 'the people's car' aka, daily driver, not built for the track. You will see many more dsm's with a turbo swap than you will a jetta.

If you want to talk about boost, a/r, and wheel sizes, by all means, i'm game. But, this now shit-talk thread, had nothing to do with any of that until you brought it up. I think you're the one that is trying to look big and bad. I have a 16g car with supporting mods. Somewhat basic for a dsm so i wouldnt and shouldnt be flexing my internet muscles. You still havent touched on the reliability of vw's. Yes we all know dsm's are not the best out of the bunch, but in two years of owning my car i have yet to have it towed. Drive it to school and work everyday. Drive to the track and done well over 50 passes and drove home. If i had a problem i fixed it at the track and got home safely. Cant really say the same for my friend who has 70k less than I on the odometer yet has broken two trannies, on his second stock turbo, and snapped too many axles to count. And dont get me started on oxygen sensors, headlight bulbs, radio's, and numerous other electrical problems. Another friend of mine has gone through 12 oxygen sensors on her 04 jetta. We are awaiting this new one to fail. Wait, there was the one time i miss-shifted into second and the rpm got to nearly 10k. Oh yea, nothing happened to my car minus a chewed up alternator belt. Phewwww, that was a close one. :oops:

Fact is i'm also "getting a kick out of fucking with retards like you," but you gotta step it up killa. DSMs are by far no means god's gift and vw's definately are not. and honestly the work wasnt that hard, it was hard having to stop and check where hte damned thing was going. but other then that everything was straight-through. now I just have to figure out where about 10 plugs go, everything else is basically wired up.

1.8t's dont really platau real quick, one of my customers put down 752whp at a bit over 30psi last year, yes on a built motor but he also put down 552whp with the stock 1.8. what it comes down to is preference. if i want an import that i can get 500hp out of and not have to worry about it a dsm will get my vote everytime. if i want a challenge and to be worried if the car will blow then yes a honda(ive always owned a honda) or a vw will do.

back on topic a 1.8 turbo makes what 180hp. so to make about 150% more power on the stock crappy engine i doubt it, but if you say so i wont argue. that would make the 1.8t better then the loved 4g63 and just as good has a 2jz in being able to make power with stock parts.

exhaust with no cat
standalone ecu(i didnt ask what it was)

at first i wasnt impressed it made like 250HP at the wheels, i was like stupid vw. then he started to lean it out and in 4 pulls just got passed the 400HP mark on 93 octane. then he ran out of gas and i said to myself stupid vw owner.

seriously he was mad cool and an older guy. i wont say much more about him since i guess he plans on making some money with the car. it does idle like stock even with cams. he said he was going back to IMP to tune it on race fuel ill have to keep in touch with the guys to see what it tops off at.

Is his name Andre? Either way, those 1.8t's are just like dsm's, they respond well to upgrades. The downside is that you pay more for 1.8t upgrades than your typical 1st/2nd gen dsm.
Most of them go with the APR and REVO chips, then Autronic and 034efi standalone.
I happen to sell the 034efi and i know that Andre's running it, he's put about 430 or so hp to the wheels at around 16-17psi
