As soon as I got off the NYS Thruway on my ride home tonight I spotted a 1995'ish Impala SS that was a few cars ahead of me in traffic. As we cruise up NY Rt. 17 towards Tuxedo I just happened to get right next to and then in front of him. His plate said something like "I8AV8" and it was a Earnhardt edition license plate so I'm thinking maybe he'll have a go at me since he jumped right in behind me after I passed him. As luck would have it he got off the same exit as I did but by this point he was back in front of me. He made a left at the end of the ramp and clearly got on it a little as he spun the tires a bit mid turn. I took that as "I want to play" so I gave chase and quickly caught up, pulled next to him and just paced him for about 1/4 mile. He stepped on it some and began to pull away so I stepped into it and as soon as the 61 spooled he stopped pulling away and fell back. Now I KNOW he's down for some fun and he starts pacing me this time. I'm just cruising at 60mph in 4th with him about 1/4 car back when I see his car lurch a little and start to blow past. Being lazy I didn't even down shift, I just floored it in 4th, he got about a half a car in front, then the 61 spooled to about 24psi and I rolled past him like he was standing fucking still!! Not really a major kill since 11 second VR4>14 second Impala but it was kind of cool that both of our cars were family sedans that seem to have joined the "dark side". He didn't fool with me for the next 5 or 6 miles he was behind me after I schooled him that second time.

Really? Cool! I love a challenge, it's not too much fun beating up old dudes in stock Chevys. But to really earn my respect you'll have to do more than beat me in a drag race. Let me see you drive your car 30 miles each way to work every day for months on end without a breakdown :wink: . I'm pretty sure I know what you've got up your sleeve with your "new" turbo. Oh, and its gotta be on pump in full street trim and I don't "wanna run from a roll"!!

They've got to get a lot more Supras to outnumber the VR4 owners on here. Shit, maybe we should change it to NJ.GVR4.ORG .

The supras may be faster, but with 4 doors you can have way more fun with girls in the Gvr4.
