I'm not getting any work done, I'm too busy reading that damn story!! It wasn't too bad until it got to the part where she took pics of the kindergarden classroom and there little gas masks as well as shoes and dolls all over :cry: . That part gave me a little knot in my chest since my daughter is getting to be that age I can't even imagine her living through something like that.

I remember seeing pictures about this place up in a different website. Showed a overshot of the whole town and it was truely amazing to think the whole thing was just abandoned... theme parks completely deserted, factories and houses with utilities still left as is. I still haven't read this article but I will now... i'm pretty sure some of the things i've mentioned had been taken pictures of.

If you want to see something even weirder, check out the pictures of Hiroshima. Completely leveled city, and shadows of where people were standing when the blast hit were burned into the dirt.... really odd to see those pictures

Back to Chernobyl picutures: The thing that probably bothers me more than those pictures is how the government screwed everyone over so badly. They didnt tell anyone of the radiation/explosion, sent all those firefighters/cleanup men to the site when they knew they would die, took wormwood/chernobyl out of the dictionary, and has done little since to clean up the area. People talk about how shitty our American gov't is because we go to war and they arent allowed to smoke weed... try living in Russia and see how well it turns out for you

for anyone interested, here is a little walkthrough of the Japanese destruction. I actually went to the museum when I was there back in 98. It's not as detailed or creepy as the russia thing, but definitely interesting and semi-related.

ive been reading this and researching about Chernobyl online since i woke up around 11 and its 4pm. ive never read this much in my life or been so interested in something. thanks for ruining my entire day, lol

haha it is really interesting. I did a report on the incident 3 years ago. It still facinates me today. I hope we learn from these mistakes.
