Has anyone ever put a 4g63 in any type of truck or know of any one who has . I was told you can put them into an isuzu pup , i searched all over the net but never came up with anything . i was thinking of this cause it would be a pretty cool project , and if i remember i think mitsubishi has an awd truck in the 80's . Any info would be greatly appreciated if someone could point me in the direction of finding out some info. Thanks

Yeah, the Mighty Max is a relatively straight foward swap. If things go right, there may be another one around very soon  . A DSM manifold will fit on the 2.4 that the 1990 and up ones came with so I may try doing that.

gadget,
I was gonna buy a mighty Max from a used lot somewhere in freehold but I decided not to anymore. IIRC, its a black 90 with about 200K on it. I forget the name of the lot but its in freehold...saw it in the autoshopper. Mufflex has a shot of the 4G63T in the truck. Its positioned the same way swapped into a starquest. Good luck, John

Someone needs to mod up an old mitsu Expo van. Already has the 2.4, and is set up for rear drive.

Is Joe talking about the OLD Mitsubishi vans? The ones that are called a"terrorist vans"? That would be a pisser with a turbo set up. The driver actually sits in front of the motor on them.

those are the ones, they have the 6 bolt 2.4 and RWD (at least the US versions did anyway). I am sure that it would make a intersting sleeper

Oh the video of the terrorist van from austrialia running that low 11 on slicks still makes me cringe. So So So out of control. And the fricken pipes and stuff still on the roof like it's his work truck for a contractor.
I was looking at Mike's Jeep wrangler that has a wasted stock 4cyl motor and thinking that it would make a neat swap. Remove the front drive axle, make it a solid lightweight beam. plenty of room for a 4g63 and mighty max trans.

Yeah, I sold one to my buddy a couple of years ago. I lowered it, swapped in a mint set of 1G DSM buckets, and adapted it to 5 lug with a set of 3G Eclipse 17's on it. It was a total stripper truck, no AC, no radio, no PS, 5 speed, 2.4L SOHC. I wish I had some pics of it to show you guys. He just put a deposit on a new Tacoma and I left him a message yesterday saying I want dibs on getting my old truck back, if I don't hear from him tonight I'm gonna call him again. I think I may take the easy way out for now and just do a turbo mani on the stock motor. The only problem you'll run into is that the standard DSM turbo faces the exhaust to the front and the intake to the rear. One of the guys on the GVR4 board had a 4G63 in a late 80's 325 BMW and he solved the problem by swapping to an Evo8 turbo which flips the turbo 180*. I've got it all planned out in my head and I think the stock pistons can live at 10 psi, at least for a while  .
