maaco, 600 bucks. 2 of the nicest cars on njdsm have maaco paint jobs and you'd think they spent a lot more than 600 dollars for it. they get complimented wherever they go and people's jaws drop when they find out it was a maaco job. i also had my bumper painted there on my car and i havent had a problem with it at all.

All i have heard is horror stories about mako, parts being stolen off cars, massive orange peel, dirt in the paint, etc etc. You get what you pay for.

My friend had his car painted there and it came out pretty dam nice. However every car iv seen painted by them was black so i dont know if that makes any difference. Maybe black is easier to paint or doesnt look as bad if its not that good.

yeah i dont want to go with maaco, since i heard of bad story about them. Also my theory is if im going to get something done get it done right first time.

Also I'm thinking about doing lexus IS300 graphite gray with the roof black. So does anybody have an idea of how much it will cost?

At a good body shop and they do all the prep work id say 2000-3000 dollars, are you getting everything painted aka engine bay and such?

I've gotten quote so far for mine at 3,000, which includes minor bodywork for right rear panel behind door, plus dent on B pillar, and fender replacement, plus r/r doors I'm supplying, and bumper support alignment, also includes more mettalic added to factory silver paint, plus Carbon Fiber Hood installed and not painted. I have 2 more places to check with for more quotes.

i think he is going to get back into it. he told me to try to get more work. now that weve got good equipment and a decent setup as far as space and a routine, things are real smooth. plus he doesnt have to work like a slave all week to make some money

deanprichard

paint, bodywork, all that. it all depends on the condition of the car and color, a bunch of stuff. you cant just give a flat price. im going to talk to him tonight to see if he can set up a time for estimates since i got a bunch of messages asking about prices.
