Well, here it is, beautiful day, and I stop by my sis house in Newark, she not home so I drive back home along second avenue with my son in car in NEwark, which becomes Rutledge avenue In Easy Orange, and some moron barrels through the dam stop sign and I slam brakes and cut wheel hard left hoping to avoid contact, and BAM!!,no such luck. So now mt paint job goes from slight body work to additional bodywork, with the dam bumper support possibly needing replacement, and now front bumper, also. Fortunately none of the new lights were damaged, but dam, this sucks, the dam hood stays ajar on driver side with a major gap. More work for the project car now!!!

We got police to get all information, and now I have to contact insurance, shit is since I only have liability, the damage has to be eaten by me I believe, although the original owner of vehicle involved showed up and seemd to amicably offer to take car of damages to my car. I'm not sure if this offer is legitimate, but we exchanged contact information, and I just have to hope for the best now. I got room full of new parts for my car to be added on little by little, and this just put a real damper on the project and my day. My doors were orginally banged up when I bought car from http://www.turbocarz.com/phpBB2/profile ... ofile&u=95 (http://www.turbocarz.com/phpBB2/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=95)
and I already got set of doors to replace ones on car, but I wasnt planning on this additional headache.

well, if it was considered the other drivers fault, his liability insurance would have to cover your damages.

If the cop issued a ticket for the other guy running the light, his insurance should be paying you since he was at fault.
For some reason cops will never write tickets at the scene of an accident unless you practically beg them to do it. Dunno why.

not true. when i got into the accident in january with my car, cops wrote me a ticket right quick and in a hurry. so that meant a $2,000 deductible for the car, $400 for the ticket and no points.

I didn't think they could "rip up" a ticket once they started writing it. Every ticket # has to be accounted for, I would think.

i dont know the technicalities of it but he physically ripped it up in front of me. wouldnt have mattered though, my best friend's dad is chief and he said if i ever get a ticket to just give it to him. i have yet to get one in my town so far though

This is what a cop sees:
Me in a sports car, some dumb soccer mom in a minivan who caused the accident.
Why do they not want to write a ticket so the insurance is 50/50? To help the soccer mom and screw the sports car driver?
If I caused the accident, you know that ticket is getting written up quick to help the soccer mom.
Thats just the way it goes out there.
