Apparently His Musclecar Was't Very Muscular!

On the way home from work a few cars ahead of me I spot a mean looking black '55 Chevy with skinnies up front and a mini tub in the rear. The thing looks fucking evil and had side exit exhaust but it was only 2.5" and sounded like it had a tired out small block in it. We get onto Rt. 17 in Sloatsburg and I give a good look around, no cops, maybe I'll try him. I'm figuring he's gonna stomp the SHIT outta me but its cool to get to see a really fast car go like mad on the street, even if he's whipping your ass. I give him a little turbo spool and the BOV as I pass, then I slow down a bit and wait for him to catch up. As he approaches we're going really slow and I throw it in 2nd, he gets to my back door and I hear him hit it so I punch it too, he gets to my front door, my turbo spools and I WALK away from him. http://www.galantvr4.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif http://www.galantvr4.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif I figure he must have been in the wrong gear or something and he slows down again, I go along with it and slow down too. This time he gets right along side of me before he hits it, I punch it pull a couple of cars in second, bounce off the rev limiter (8500 on stock rods and pistons - ouch!!), shove it into third and put a couple of more on him. :shock: I guess he wasn't in the wrong gear, he was just driving a "poser" car that looked like it ran 10's but probably went 13's. :lol: Anyway, the guy and his buddy seemed pretty cool, he pulled up next to me after that laughing his ass off, he gave the the thumbs up, and just shook his head "yes" to me. He had another guy in the back that I could only see the shadow off due to the tinted back windows but once they ended up in front of me I could only see the shadow of that guy's hat looking back at my car over and over. The three of them must have been like "WTF?!?!". Today was the first time in over a month that I drove my GVR4 to work and boy am I glad I did. :twisted: I wish I had a camera phone because this thing looked crazy fast, no bumpers, 10.5"-12" rear tires, and a set of traction bars painted flat black. I really thought I was about to be crushed by that thing.

threre is a guy that nate know with the same kind of car. 57 chevy, tubbed out, full cage, looks like its set up to run 8's. But its got a mild small block. Lot of builders do that, all show no go. Like many honda's I guess.

That car was the best. giant direct port 8 nozzle nitrous system with the soda can size solenoids. all polished up and hot looking. Look at the input of the nitrous solonoid...no line, no fitting. just a little rust on the inside of the hole on the plunger. The nitrous kit was never ever hooked up to a bottle, it was just there for show. Akin to buying a big 8-71 blower and having it stick up through the hood, but no belt.

That one is pretty nasty. Stupid loud. It doesn't make huge mph, something like 115s or so but it hooks damn good and runs in the mid 11s I think. I'm sure it weighs a couple tons.

Yeah, I saw 11x mph and thought "that's it?" IMHO if you have a back halved car like that it had better run single digits.

Maybe. Maybe he should have spent more money on building a motor and less on making his car look fast. Maybe he needs a 4G63 swap in that bitch!! :lol:
