Nate,

From where are you running the business? If people still wanted to stop by to pick up parts, could they still do so or are you purely mail order now?

I noticed you had some fairly hacked 1G MAFs laying around. Looking for a busted one since I only need the connector piece to make the 2G MAF plug and play. I also think I will be going with a Dejon Tool set up to connect to the turbo. Have you run into one of these in any of your part outs?

I think I have a stock 2G intake tube. PM me an offer if you're interested.

Thanks guys. I am located in PA, BTW, but visit my mother in Central NJ on occasion. Let me know if that is more convenient to the MAF and Dejon intake owners.

John, I do not know what a stock 2G intake looks like. Is it a rubber accordian connector like the 1G oem? Not sure about fitment. Anyone use a 2G oem intake tube on a 1G?

It looks a lot like the 1G one but it has a oval end for the 2G MAS on it. It fit very well on my GVR4, the MAS ended up right behind the passenger's side headlight. I'm not 100% sure if its still in the shed so if you want me to look just let me know.

Thanks, John. I spoke with Mark earlier today and will probably pick up his Dejon intake. If for some reason, it does not work out, I may take you up on your offer.

While im in this shop, it's still going to be cool for walk in/parts pickup.

Once I move, it is mailorder only for a few different reasons. Mostly, that I won't be living at the same building as work. Ill be watching my kids during the day and working at night, so there will mostly be noone there anyway and my work hours will be very inconsistent.

So once I move it's shipping/online ordering only.

really...how much of a problem is this going to be? I get maybe 3 or 4 walk in customers a month at most, but ship out sometimes 20 boxes a day.

I can't see how this is a real problem anyway since everyone who drives out here bitches and complains about how far away from the city I am.

Other than motors and tranny and complete cars...everything I sell would be cheaper to ship in NJ than the gas it takes to drive out here. seriously. UPS ground $7...that buys you about 3 gallons of gas. In a DSM you get 20mpg, that's 60 miles.

If you live 30miles away or more (EVERYONE DOES), UPS ground is cheaper than driving here.

Not a BIG problem but it was nice to be able to hop in the car and grab a part if I needed it immediately. Also, being able to sit down with you in person and discuss different options on things like choosing a turbo was nice. I know that if I really wanted to do that I could call you and get together so its not a big deal.

Dude, I have no trouble with that kinda stuff by appointment. I just am not going to have "everyday open business hours" where people can just drop by anytime.

And I can always leave parts outside for pickup later if Im not going to be around.

always a way around it.
