ok i got the car to start but when it does it revs up to 4-5k rpm and doesnt stop reving. im running a nt tb. could this be the prob? or the isc?can anyone help me out?

Did it happen right after the TB swap? Try putting the old one back in and see what happens first.

i dont have another one. the nt is all that was on there. i just dropped the motor into the car.

First off, the CTP switch is definitely not working, disconnected, out of adjustment, or the throttle actually isn't closed all the way. If the CTP tells the ECU that the throttle is closed then it will cut fuel (or spark??) at around 2000rpm and that'll give it that surge that a lot of DSM's have. Try disconnecting the throttle cable from the t-body to eliminate it being out of adjustment as a possible cause.

Make sure you put the gasket on the right way too or youll have a leak.

Good point. I totally forgot about that even though it bit me in the ass once. The stuff about the CTP still stands true though, even with a air leak like that.
