wtf..

Long story short, I pulled the VC and found a piece of hard plastic in between two valve springs. The only thing I know that's plastic and can find it's way into my head is the CAS since it's a 95 DSM. Does anyone have a picture of a 95-95 CAS so I can verify? Or does anyone know where the hell the CAS is located? I know it's under the intake cam somewhere..

update * I have pictures, but I still don't know what the hell it is.

its on the end of the cam by the battery. But I doubt thats where it came from.

I think you're thinking about the 97-99 CAS. From what I've read it's somewhere under the intake cam on the t-belt side?

Either way, where the hell else could plastic find its way into my head?

its underneath the cam gear not inside the engine. There are no plastic pieces I can think of maybe it came off the cap on the oil cans.

its a melted ring that goes around the cap of a quart of oil.

Some help! 8) In all seriousness, it is not something from an oil change. It is a very hard plastic (resembles the hardness of a bumper support). I started the car up multiple times now and she "sounds" normal, but recently threw a CEL that I can't see until I get my OBD2 connector back for DSMLink.

Timing marks (at least the cam gears) lined up and I have yet to check compression and ignition timing.

this really interests me. any reference to its size?

It's smaller than a quarter and was found directly between two valves right under where one would pour oil in. Apparently the previous owner left a present for me.

Also did a compression test. 105-157-160-163. Time to pull the head and inspect the valve slapping that's happening.

Every time i looked at that pic, i felt like i've seen that peice before. And i have. Look at your oil cap, on the inside. See if a small black peice is missing. If not, its from some other oil cap then. That little plastic peice looks almost identical to the black plastic tooth type peice on my oil cap.

yup, it was identified as a piece of the oil cap like you said T. I guess I replaced the junky one that came with the car when I bought it. Maybe it broke off before I even got to the car?

Either way, My head is fucked. Loud valve tapping sound + 105psi compression in cyl 4 = th3 suck.
