I was planning to clean my engine bay, but I wasn't sure what should I cover when I pass the water hose over the engine.

I have a bottle of Simple Green. And was planning to spray over engine bay, then with a low pressure water hose spray the engine bay, but I wasn't sure what I should cover so what doesn't touch. What do you guys cover when you guys are cleaning your engine bays??

Alternator area and I personally remove my battery and intake.
You can do it in stages, I wouldn't just hose the entire bay
down one time....

alternator and CAS, the rest should be okay to hose. lay off the coild if you can, but it will be okay. blow off anything electrical if you can. water will also pool in your valve cover so watch out, it'll go down to where the plugs are and arc marginal plug wires.
actually just lay off the whole valve cover area, do that by hand with the simple green, its easy enough. soaking a rag in simple green and jerking off your plug wires will make them look brand new.

I couldn't really tell the difference lol :D

The before and after pics were amazing. I am going to try that when it gets a bit more hotter.
