Does it payoff to swap the 1g engine into the 2g, and what is required to make the swap. Anybody know a website that shows the swap. I just bought a DSM and I have tons of questions I appreciate the help.

blow up the 2g motor first. its not worth enough HP to justify all the work just to say you have a 6 bolt.
but yes it bolts right in.
boost the crap out of the motor you have now, you won't break it unless you are trying to run 10's

This may sound stupid but Luke is totally correct. Modify it as you want and If and/or when it blows then do the swap. Unless its a;ready blown you never stated the condition of your current setup.
by the way, SEARCH , SEARCH You will find a ton of info if you look.
Good Luck !

Its got a big 16g, Apexi N1 3" exhaust, 3" downpipe no cat, 550cc injectors, bigger fuel pump, FMIC, Profec e-01 boost controller, and E-manage. It smokes a little at idle, I think the cause are the valve guides not the turbo becuase its only a couple of months old, but who knows this is what the guy whom i bought it from told me. Is there a way to check the two without taking it apart? It runs strong, I run it a 18psi and I have run it a 25psi and it runs good. The trans is difficult to shift into first. Its a 95 FWD, I need to get the trans done, and a LSD. In second the boost kicks in at around 3500 then the tire spins around 4500, no wheel hop though.
As far as blowing it up is concerned, I'm down with that (definatly film it). What about the trans, do I keep the 2G trans?

yes you keep the entire 2g driveline
you hollow out one of the starter mounting holes if i remember correctly
www.vfaq.com (http://www.vfaq.com) is the best place to start for DSM knowledge
