View Full Version : Any Tips on Pulling a motor from a 97 GST?

Im going to be pulling my motor in a week or so. the cars going to the paint shop and i want to paint the engine bay also. Any tips? Its fwd so the trans it there also. thanks

it doesnt say anything about 2g's
uh, disconnect everything from it, drain all fluids, pull it, and then put the new one in and connect everything back. Not much else to it, except a lot of work.
organize your bolts and nuts in labeled bags!
here is the Factory Service Manual, I don't know what else you can ask for.

dont seperate the engine from the trans. pull it all out at once. axles, wiring, hoses, fuel, odds and ends.... yank

Have LOTS of blankets on hand for when you put the motor back in, you wouldn't want to screw up that new paint job. Oh, and +1 for pulling the motor and trans together.

+1. Pull the motor and trans together, reinstall the same way.
