View Full Version : Does anyone know where there is e85 for sale in jersey?
Also, has anyone experimented with this stuff? A few guys have done it successfully on the dsmlink boards.

I check this every month or so but no news for NJ.
So like I said I do check every 1-2 months and it seems that now there's going to be E85 available from a Sunoco station in Spring Valley, NY, which is about 20 miles from me. When it does get there I'm going to try it.

It burns cleaner and has a higher octane rating. But, it takes roughly 30% more of it to run properly. Stoich for e85 is like 8:1. Dont quote me on that, just know that it's rich. I know when the DSMlink guys are tuning for it, they set the global correction about 30% less.

Short answer is that, you need more ethanol to create the same energy
gasoline does. It will cut down mpg, but it will burn cleaner and cooler.
Who drives there DSM for good gas mileage anyway?
And as far as the 30% global, it's really more of how "your" fuel system is
functioning/setup. I've seen some people only make an 18~20% global
correction....

You get 20% less miles out of a tank of E85, so if its 20% cheaper than premium then you're even. If its less you save. In the corn belt its cheap as shit and way worth it. Around here the prices are kind of fluxuating.
Its a huge octane rating and can run a lot more boost on it, almost like race gas.
You will need more injector to flow the extra fuel you'll need for it, and some good injector control like DSMlink. So if you're maxing out 550 or 660s, you might around 900cc injectors to run the same boost.
