Lesson learned: Even tho I live on East Clinton (a huge hill that goes up the Palisades Cliffs) and for the house I rent an apt in to flood basically Bergen County (and I guess most of NYC) would have to be under 300 feet of water, I got flooded.
With an inch of plate ice in my backyard and a pile of snow between me and the downhill neighbor all the water coming down from the houses above collected in my yard. Came outside to 4 inches of standing water across the driveway and into the garage (frying the illegal power wires I had running into it). 3 feet of water in the basement. Hot water heater was trashed and furnace needed 3 new sensors and a circuit board (and they were both installed 4 months ago). Luckily I rent, so 3 days of water pumps and new heaters were the landlord's problem.
This is what I had in the basement and was underwater. Think any of this is trashed or should it survive being submerged?
-two new alternators
-new set of magnacore wires
-oem temp sensor
-aftermarket (westach) temp sensor
-bosch wideband sensor
-greddy egt probe
-a box of spark plugs
-jack (is the oil chamber sealed ie waterproof?)
-two window air conditioners
