Ok i just picked up this 97 GST and the previous had told me that the rear hatch lock has a broken key in it.
What he didn't tell me is that the key he gave me doesn't open any of the door locks.

Now my question is:

1) Can all locks be changed and have one key for all locks?

2) How much will this cost me?

3) Any shop recommendations either in the Clifton or Fairfield Area?

4)Are aftermarket Gauges for Oil Temp, Turbo Boost, Air/Fuel a necessity when car is stock? Should this be my first mod? How much am i looking at in terms of $$$ for a decent 3 pod setup?

you can have your locks re keyed, or buy a set from someone parting out a car.

put in a boost gauge, the other ones are just for show. don't use the a-pillar setup. they seriously suck ass.

The lock core is a seperate piece from the door handle and can be swapped out, no idea on the price though.

http://www.turbocarz.com/njdsm/Vendors.htm Broadway Performance is in passaic.

There is nothing wrong with a-pillar gauges, but if you only are running one gauge its silly, autometer makes a trim ring to mount gauges in the intsrument cluster.

If you're only going to run 1 guage (I did for years before I got the wideband and AFC), I have a single pod for sale, $5 and it's yours :) But yeah, if you're going to mod, search the faqs, boost guage is always your first buy. The factory "guage" is actually a computer estimate of your boost based off intake, TPS, and a few other sensors...

Since you seem new to the DSM scene in general, I'll show you the best link evar:

Now i like to take care of my cars so i will probably go with a 3 pod.

I was reading up on th elinks that you guys provided and probably my first mod would be a Turbo Timer.

Apart from what needs to be fixed on the car

do whatever you want with gauges, but i highly suggest against getting one of those cheap air fuel gauges with the flashing lights. Does nothing for tuning capabilities and only attracts ricers. Boost and egt are pretty much the 2 that will help you the most. Maybe a third if you feel like it... wideband o2 sensor is your only option really if you want to know a/f
