To tell the truth, I never even heard of it.

No way! Wall Speedway was one of the legendary tracks. What a bummer. That one hurts more than the Flemington Speedway closing down.

i used to ride my dirt bike in the quarry behind the track. we used to park in the track parking lot and unload. sometime we would come up and stand behind the back fence and watch.
that sucks, small piece of americana gone but it looks like it was a business decision and not forced by the municipality which makes me feel better about it.

this was in the star ledger a few weeks ago also. i find this quote a little funny
“You’re fighting for the entertainment dollar more today than you ever have in the past,” said Jim Morton, the track manager.
when they had the drift events there, the place was sold out you couldnt even walk around. they lost money because they wanted to cater to nascar wich in the northern states is not as popular. by the way im one of the few puerto ricans who actually watch nascar. they couldve saved the track if they wanted. just add more variety to the racing taking place. good example e-town, they do drag racing, go karts, drifting, dirt bikes you got to kater(sp?) the younger age and what theyre into or you will loose $$$ and be forced to close shop.

You are absolutely correct. Every business has to grow and keep up with the times. I honestly think they got an "Amazing $$$" offer for the property and took the money. I see no problem with that but they are just bullshitting us when they say "They tried to keep it going..." :!:

It's always sad to see another "Mom and Pop" type track close. I've never been to Wall but I used to go to Flemington when I lived there. I helped a buddy with his Enduro car and went to watch the Craftsman Truck Series there twice.
