sexay, how much did you pay? Where did you get it and did you get a warranty? The ones I see around within 50 miles of Manalapan are few and far between finding one under 55-60k on them and the dealers still want 15-16k. I almost like the wagon more because you get the roofrack. It might be a month or two until I can find an 04 in a decent price range with the mileage I'm looking for.

about 15,5
i got it with 100k warranty, so its good till jun 2009, for powertrain.
i actually bought private party and yea i paid a bit much but got the warranty transfered from them because it was a former certified preowned, just had to pay 35bucks transfer fee.

you wont be able to get an 04 with extended warranty from any dealer unless it's got like 20k on it.

turbomike knows someone selling an 05 i think for similar price.

i couldn't find anything cheaper in good shape.

The problem comes in that I'm going to need to finance it since I only have a couple grand to put down since I recently started working full time, but need a car soon. If I go the route of the bank they will only give what they think the car is worth and from how the way they phrased it on the phone it sounds like they dont give out amounts that are more like market value. I would however save a bit buying private party, but what a pain to: find a car I like, negotiate with the seller, and then tell them hold on, I have to see if I can get a loan first after all we just went through only to get denied because they bank didnt think it was worth that much.

+1, congrats on the new car

rotorocker - check out Capital One Auto Finance - unless you are military or something along those lines that's your best bet for auto finance. Banks suck for personal loans, and private party rates are awful everywhere (including Cap One) but worth checking into - also get a credit report so you have an idea of what to expect

I will, my bank is Commerce although they said they dont take into account my money with them or anything when checking for approval although I know have I have good credit. They also currently have used auto loans at 6.75 which is crappy. I'll check out the place you said.

i think all used auto loans are going to be about that much, and depending on year it goes up.

mine is 7percent until i get automatic deduction. it sucks but they financed the whole thing.

they really try to make it more diffficult for people buying used cars.
if you get from a used dealer you can get better rate, more $, longer payments.

i got mine from First Atlantic FCU, if you're near one try it

i think the only thing that mounts up to this roof rack is subaru factory racks. but all i need are some surfboard straps so its fine :).
