I think things are finally coming together together for the Talon, judging by how things went yesterday. I foresee lots of drivetrain breakage in the future now.

nice work BeNt. You better start stocking up on tranfer cases. When are you bringing that thing to the track?

I'm blind as hell but I think I saw 7xxhp.
BTW, awesome numbers Brent. Damn, Damn . What else is there to say , Damn. Congrats.
Congrats! Now turn up the boost and really show us what that 42r can put down.

761hp wow, that's ALOT. I want to come see you drive it at the track (read that as break it). Any guestimate of mph capability with that much power from a dsm on that dyno?
What's the $ total on that setup? Still mostly DIY built parts?

Nice numbers Brent, which version of the GT42R are you running?

Thanks guys, I'm still in denial in how it did yesterday and stayed together in one piece. I was expecting a bit of coolant being pushed by the time we went over 35psi since I'm not running the "magic" L19/FelPro head sealing combo, but it stayed tight. The final numbers by the end of the day were in fact 761hp/545tq. I'd have a printed out graph, but the shop had issues with the printer hooked up to the dyno computer, so I'm waiting on an emailed file later on this week.
I'd say this was the best we could do yesterday due to a few factors, one being the stock coils showing some weaknesses in the higher rpm's. We'd turn the boost higher, see the graph get a bit squiggly from 6500 on, gap the plugs tighter, re-dyno, and then the problem would be gone. We just got to a point where the plugs are gapped somewhat small that they're creating an issue for idling then--which is already not the most ideal situation with 1600's. The other thing we noticed was the HP was starting to peak around 7400 and plateauing for about 500 rpm, then staying somewhat flat although dropping some, rather than still pulling higher. This could be an issue from a bunch of different things becoming a bottleneck at that point, like the stock cam gears, the choice of cams, the turbine housing a/r, the port work, etc.

I'm shooting for Friday actually. I'd like to go to Maple Grove for a few reasons and meeting up with some people I know. Island is definitely my other choice, but I'm not sure on how I'd like the prep work the first time out.
What's the $ total on that setup? Still mostly DIY built parts? Ha...........haha..............hahaha....... I don't want to think about it--especially when they say time is money. :P But yeah, almost everything is diy stuff, but the fuel system being redone cost a bit, new radiator, new manifold material (including pricey Tial v-band stuff), lower ic pipe material, clamps, flanges, couplers, fittings, etc......all those things definitely added up. All that's different from last year is the turbine housing, exhaust manifold, part of the downpipe (now full 4"), lower ic pipe, radiator and hoses, staging brake (finally installed), and fuel cell / lines / dual 044 setup.
I'd like to guess for mph that it should be in the 140's, but as for my et, I don't want to bench race that. We set up the antilag to make 15psi off the line, however I can definitely see me breaking something trying that on the first pass. If I just free rev / slip it and only get a 1.7-1.8, the et will suck but I should have a cleaner pass. This is what I ended up doing at Atco, but I was trying to use the 2step and not antilag there too. Doing it that way will also lower the mph too since the car won't build full boost even in 2nd launching it this way.
Nice numbers Brent, which version of the GT42R are you running? Only the 4294R. I was hoping the smaller compressor wheel would spool up a little quicker, and then I find out later from a few people it's not too different in spool time vs the 102. I think with the Tial turbine housing it's a bit nicer of a match, but I can't tell 100% since the turbine housing on there is modified to work by patching up a hole where a wastegate once was welded off the side. It creates a little smaller area and a tiny bump in flow at the inlet.

Nothing's set in stone yet for the yellow car you got. You can easily copy what I did.

I wouldnt wanna be a copy cat...but yes something along the lines of what you have would be sweet :)
Nice job Brent! Now turn up the boost....anything under 35psi is just vac. You have about 20psi to go.

60psi or bust, eh?
:D The Tial housing seems to make the same power as the standard divided T4 but at a lot less boost. From what I have been told the GT42 in a Tial housing will only make high 40's for boost. The Divided T4 will make 60psi. Don't be scared....turn up the wick and hold on. Its going to be a fun ride.

I wish Tial would get off their ass and make the larger a/r options for this turbine already-- I've been hearing the same about the ~40psi limits of it too (What Jake M. was talking about recently) Too bad they're on back order indefinitely. :?
Speaking about suckyness, the weather isn't looking great for track time tomorrow either.
