I posted up these pics before, but here's the GSX when I bought it just to refresh your memory :)

Well, a lot has happened since then. When I bought the car it didn't run. After fixing about a million things that were wrong with her, it finally ran.

The first thing I decided that needed to go was the ugly blue interior pieces. Since I had to pull them about and buy new pieces, I decided to go with a black interior. That was a fun day. :wink:

I really, really like the black interior a lot more then the gray. All I need are some Evo Recaro's, black carpet, and the screen to be molded in and I'll be set.

The first day it ran I went to take her for a spin. Of course, I forgot to latch down the hood and it went flying off into the middle of traffic. Then, a few weeks later, my rear brakes literally fell off my car. Apparently early 95's come with vented rear rotors, which are thicker then the other rotors. I guess the previous owner wasn't aware of this. As soon as the brakes pads wore down just the littlest bit, they fell right through. It's not fun to hit your brakes and have nothing happen. What a great start.

And then there was the accident. :(

I forgot to take pictures before I ripped everything off. Those pictures were taken after the radiator support was pulled out of the radiator. The accident damaged the radiator support, radiator, fan, hood pins, front bumper, and headlights.

I was told before I bought the car that all 95's were cursed, I didn't think it would be this bad....

She looks like a non turbo from the rear and the sides. :D

I eventually want to go with the bigger wing, but there are a lot more things that I want before that.

The bumper still needs some tweeking. When it was put on it lined up great, but after being on there a day it started to move a bit. When it was shipped it was wrapped really tightly and lost its shape. Then when the body shop baked it after painting it it got even worse. It won't take much to get it lined up perfectly, I'm just really picky about these kind of things. If it's not perfect, it'll drive me crazy.

I also did away with all the blue under the hood.

She's coming along great. All she needs now is some tuning. 8)

I didn't paint them, I bought all black pieces. A friend of mine had a non turbo 99 with black interior that he was parting. I took the entire interior out of that and got what he didn't have off of ebay. I have a lot of extra black interior pieces. If you're interested in them, I'll look to see what I have.

i'm not fond of body swap parts either. i think if you want car x then buy it, don't buy a talon and try and make it look like a 99gsx, just buy the damn gsx. but thats just me

probably cause for the last 10 years people have been harassing the shit out of me to "update" my 86gt to the "better looking" 87-93
only to find now that the tables have turned and the desirable car is the one i never "updated". i almost did, thank god i didn't. i think it withstood time the best and doesn't look as cheesey as an 87gt does now. older looking? yes. classier? i think so.

well i'm glad to see that you ditched the ricey stuff on your car. dash swaps arn't fun but the end result looks worth it.

i bought a 95 talon because its usally cheaper than a eclipse insurance is probly cheaper and 200 bucks to change the front of my car isnt that bad. so yea to each his/her own.

I would have bought a 97-99 Eclipse if I could have found one in good condition and in my price range. I got this car cheap. The only parts of the car that were in bad shape were the things I planned on ripping out anyway. It's hard to find these cars in good shape with low miles anymore. When I saw this car I was impressed with it. If I went to look at it and it was dinged and scratched up I never would have bought it.

I traded seats with someone. I couldn't see over the dash with the racing seats that came in it. :oops:

I threw out all of the grey interior pieces. I can't stand holding on to things that I have no use for and if I have them sitting around while I'm trying to sell them they'll just annoy me.

LOL You would have got a big laugh trying to watch me drive in them. I couldnt see over the dash and I couldnt see around because my head was even with the widest part of the seat. I'll just stick with getting Evo seats and dying the blue part black. :D

Nah ah ah you've spoken too quickly. They are very similar, but not the same. :wink: The middle of yours is blue, mine is gold. The blue part sticks out, mine sinks in. I have a steeper small cone in the middle, yours is flatter. Your cone also is smooth, mine is ridged.
