well thuis tranny isnt at the dealer, after the tranny b4 dealer said take a hike  so this one was at ammco, totel job was 3200 i had to pay like 600 with copays and decutables and what not... but if i have to pay top fix it now im going race tranny, still undecided whos gunna build it but we will see...

Another thing do u guys think it is possable for my transfer case some how lock up and cause my tranny to go all those times?

BigT
10-02-2005, 01:07 PM
you paid 600 to get your tranny rebuilt to stock? when dogbox could have done a basic rebuild, which is stronger then stock, for 700? This is what happens when u dong listen to me. And now, your cender diff decided to take a hike. :?

I took my first car to LeeMiles back in the day. LAST time I ever go to a "chain" garage for anything. Holy cow is it setup to screw you.

You're nuts for going to ANY of those "chain" tranny places.

ignorance is bliss..

drop your car off anywhere in irvington, i SWEAR you will have no more problems with your trans.

Just bring the car to a dam dsm specialist already(BM, dogbox). Its sounds like you have something retarded wrong with your car like the bellhousing shield is messed up and causeing to trans to be cocked, or some stupid shit like that.

I know you won't belive it, but the trans that was in my racecar from 2002 till 2005 was built by Lee Miles in hackettstown in 2001.(next to the lube-it-all that I worked at changing oil in the pit). It was a standard 1992 trans rebuild with factory parts. I put in the welded center diff and evo steel forks myslef along the line as I broke them. That trans held up to hundreds of 11 second passes, many 1.5 short times. If finally met it's doom behind 9000rpm shifts w/ 650+whp this fall. It had a miserable life, I assure you.

Id take it back there just for shits and giggles and to tell them the story.

Nick,

If it makes you feel any better, my car is in the shop right now too . . . with the tranny on the floor of said shop being pulled apart.

I couldn't drive backwards, and that's the most important gear in Hoboken! Parallel parking owns me! :D

Moreso the driver. My stock 97 trans in my old 2g held up well, ask Jerry P. or Mike L. about it. Over 500whp and numerous mid 11 second passes at 125mph.

I am going to blueprint that tranny, I can't believe it's taken the abuse it has, the syncros started wearing out and I think we finally bent a shift fork, we'll know in about 2 weeks.

Keep us posted Mike. In addition to the abuse you and Jerry put it through, it had 40k miles of my abuse on top. Nick, admit it... you just can't drive.

i actually like 2g's better than 1g's
i would never own a 2g, because they fall apart FAST but they drive MUCH nicer and they are far more comfortable. but they have to be low milage and never hacked apart by some teenager. lowered, shitty ebay parts, bad mods.... like the majority of 2g's out there. but nice stock or bolt-on ones with everything working are nice cars. i didn't keep my 1g long, i don't like them. if i had a 2g that was nice i'd keep it longer, but not too long. i'll stick with my galant though, its my favorite of the bunch. well actually the evo is super nice but its far from a daily driver or commuter car. you can, but i wouldn't commute with a car with $200 a piece tires, a clutch that lasts like 20 minutes, an expensive (for now) motor and transmission....
i definately wouldn't have it for my only car if i had to put milage on it everyday and depend on it for work.
i really wish that mitsu would release a mini evo. use the standard lancer steel body, some 16" rims on normal brakes but shove the evo drivetrain in there and sell it for $25k
not that i can't afford the extra $8k, but i don't need brembo's, recaro's, aluminum body panels, huge wheels and summer tires to get to work. but i would like a fun 4g63 turbo new car.
