Hmmm... my oldest son better get some scholarships or get picked up by ROTC, since by the time he graduates from highschool, this thing will be for sale:
Back to the Future (http://www.allpar.com/cars/dodge/challenger.html)
Apparently, some people do not like it: Malcontents (http://www.autoblog.com/2006/01/04/dodge-challenger-concept-photo-gallery/), but what do they know?
New GTO? Ehhh...
New Charger? Little better.... I did see a SRT-8 version a few days ago and have to admit I was impressed. Still, a four door muscle car?.... A bit oxymoronic.
New Mustang? Nice..... for a chick car (Can't wait for Luke's wrath :P)
For me, the "Nash Bridges/ Mannix/Petrucelli/Vanishing Point" pony car is the epitome of 70's classic muscle.

I totally agree, I saw those spy shots awhile back and I love the way the car looks. I hope it puts down some awesome numbers.
I can't wait to see the new camaro too.
I do see how some people are saying that its not good that they have to rely on older designs and now come up with new orignal material. I also think the new GTO looks exactly like a Grand Prix/Am and the new Charger looks like The magnum(at least from the front) and that 4 door stuff is crap. Just my .02

Finally automakers making some sense! I think its a great idea to bring back the models of then....timeless era. I mean look at the value of these things now! It makes sense to make "newer" versions of the old. I was always a fan of the challenger/69camaro/cuda styles. I hope that these makers actually produce them close to the old look....not like the charger and GTO

Can't say I am too happy with the way the Camaro turned out.... Maybe when they replicate the '77 Trans-Am, in ten or more years.... LOL.
Let's not forget the best of the replicas... The Ford GT and last year's auto show star, the Daytona. See, Luke, some Fords ARE cool. j/k.

yeah but its a dodge. its going to be 4,000 lbs and $40,000
same with the camaro
at least the mustang is cheap.
but i'm very glad to see some competition out there.
i have a group of friends that work in detroit for the big 3, the challenger will be available with a 6 speed, an option only reserved for the neon and viper.
they also tell me it will be a 2009

That is one sexy beast. The camaro looks a little odd but mean as hell.

the charger wouldnt have been that bad of a car if it was offered in manual or 2 door. When they started rolling off the carriers as a 4 door i gave up all hope. That camaro doesnt look too good IMO, the rear half is ok, but the front is gross.

wow, dodge went a step further than ford did with the mustang and decided to make a carbon copy of the original, which is fine btw as it was an awsome body style.

What it was originally supposed to look like:
1999 Charger Concept (http://www.supercars.net/PicFetch?pic=1999_charger_rt-1.jpg)
Concept profile (http://www.supercars.net/PicFetch?pic=1999_charger_rt-2.jpg)
Concept rear (http://www.supercars.net/PicFetch?pic=1999_charger_rt-3.jpg)
Glad the Challenger came later so that Dodge could see from experiences of Pontiac GTO and Ford Mustang that original design is sometimes the best design.

Oh yeah, its amazing. But you know those assholes would never make something that nice. Theres always much nicer concepts out then the one that actually goes into production.

thats an old concept, dont hold your breath. In typical chevrolet fashion they I am sure they will go with the uglier version. Whatever version they choose it will most likely do about about 1/4 of the sales that the mustang does, just like always.

ford sold more 2005 mustangs then the last 4 years of the camaro combined. you can even double the year 2,000 for the camaro and its still under 200k like the mustang sold :)

Yeah i know, i just said they wouldnt because there douchebags. I mean really how much sales would they get from a car like that. Its like they dont want money.

you cant really compare the sales of the last few years that car was made. especially since that was when suvs really began dominating more and the f-bodies were winding down, of course they sold less. And of course mustangs sold like hell for the new body style, it was hyped up for a long time.

true but mustang's have almost always outsold both camaro's and firebird's combined. In fact from 1967 (when the camaro/firebird was introduced) untill 2002 the camaro/firebird only outsold the mustang in 5 of the 35 years. 1977, 1978,1984,1985, and finally in 1991. In 11 of the 35 years the mustang outsold the camaro/firebird 2 to 1. And I am not saying that makes either car better or worse than the other, but I am sure its something that the money people at chevrolet think about when they consider comming out with a new camaro.

its all about the v6 convertable.
ford sells so many v6 convertable mustangs that it justifies them dumping stupid money into building a 475hp/475tq cobra (even after the new ase measurement standards) for 2007
camaro's SUCK to drive. they are huge and boaty with a terrible ride and seating position. girls don't buy them, and they kinda blow for racing.
they make nice dyno cars though :)
