Nyah, I am not flaming anyone. When have I ever done that?

Instead, with all the talk about losing weight, I finally got on a scale. Holy crap, was that depressing. Anyway, Nate, since you are on a bit of a health kick, and Luke seems to be in the health mode as well, I was thinking that having a local version of the "Biggest Loser" would be fun. That way, anyone here could join we could see who could lose the most weight.

Prize? I dunno, you guys decide. Pink slips? LOL... Seriously, it would be on the honor system. We could get something meaningful but not expensive.

Hell pretty soon you could be running 9s all day.

Get down to 185 and we'll get you autox'ing for trophys. :P

I was 295lbs in 1996, then I went on a massive diet and got down to a low of 187 in about 4 months. I have kept most off that off for nearly 10 years now. But now that I am in an office all day its much harder. But still I normally never get above 220 (christmas time). Which is why I am back at the gym everyday and back on my diet.

Very impressive guys...

7lbs in 6 days, Nate. Over 1lb/day is pretty quick. I did not think that losing weight at that rate was healthy, but Luke seems to have faired fine at about .9lbs/day. I am sure that the rate of loss slowed down after the first month.

Luke, your weight loss is unbelieveable. When I read about you and others like you, I am so impressed at your level of discipline. Unlike the stomach stapling crowd, you worked for every ounce lost. Congrats!

As for me, I am about 20 lbs too heavy. (190 and would like to be at 170). I went on Atkins a few years ago and got to about 172, but it slowly started to creep up (love the pasta and bread too much) and now I am definitely outside the acceptable range for my height (68"). According to the Navy Reserve Physical Fitness height/weight standards, I should weigh no more than 181lbs. So I have to lose at least 9lbs but hopefully more before the next biannual Physical Fitness Test (PFT) in May.

By my calculations, here is where everyone stands:

Nate already lost about 3% and has another 15% to go.
I have to lose about 10.5%
Adriano is looking to lose 6.5%

Anyone else?

Not sure how to even that out to make it a fair sort of competition, but hope that we all make those goals in short fashion.

Oops, I guess I did. I saw your post about losing 90% of your weight and then read the post about going from 295 to 187 and just did not notice that Utah posted that.

If it wasn't for Brent I would have assumed that there was a connection with obesity and spending time in Blairstown.

Not after you reach your target weight of 185. Then you'll be right there in your dress whites and dixie cup. Y. M. C. A. baby!

I know, I'm just special. Looks like I'm on the dot for that Navy Standards scale too although I'd like to be below it some.

I'm 175 now and about 5foot 9inches. Going to try to get back to my 180 by summer and then slowly get to 190. I just have to stay on a consistant gym schedule of 4 times a week and I should be OK, but work holds me back a lot, but it's obviously the priority. Eating right all the time is also not fun. At the end of the day it's worth it though.
