Just got my block back after a bearing munched itself away. When i took the motor apart, I saw lots of bearing chunks and particles in the oil pan so this has me concerned that some of this stuff made its way past the oil filter through the bypass valve and is now sitting in my oil cooler. Is there any way to flush the cooler out or am I better off searching around for another one?
i suggest getting a new one. Try ebay. You can have a new, better cooler for cheap.

compressed air. blow the shit out of it. it'll just get caught up in the filter anyway, so just change the filter after 50 miles.
DO NOT USE FRAM FILTERS.
they are junk, and are in bypass mode at anything past idle.
get a purolator pure one (aka ford motorcraft, which can be found cheaper) or a napa gold or a wix.
most of the other filters are a joke.
