An extensive list of absolutely everything in this world that's more boring than Nascar (http://becauseitoldyouso.com/_wsn/page2.html)

Should get interesting in 2007 with Toyota... the rednecks will hate that. :D

now that irony, toyota having to design a race car engine using pushrods and a carb.

And watch them win most of the races. I wont be suprised is toyota is banned in 2008.

ya but to be honest, what does it matter? All of the engines are exactly the same as the rules dictate. Not to mention, (by their own account) the TRD team just reverse engineered the ford/chevy/dodge engines. So its not like there is going to be anything groundbreaking that toyota is going to come up with. At most they will mess around or try to tweak the existing designs a bit. The teams are so tied down in what they are allowed to do so that everyone has the exact same car. Its too bad b/c I think nascar could be alot better if they were not all the same car with different headlights painted on them. In the 60's nascar was the reason for the 426 hemi, the plymouth superbird, Ford talledega, boss 429, and many other cool cars and engines.

OHC big block for the win

I was reading that Toyota figured out how to make a lighter/stronger block and that they're going to make more HP than the Big 3 are... Time will tell.

hahahaha, that would make nascar more intersting, like when ford came out with the SOHC 427 engine in the mid 60's. Too bad toyota will have to make pretty much a carbon copy of everyone else's engine.

Toyota ran a Craftsman Truck last year with a lot of success. I understand that they whined to NASCAR, asking for some leeway since they are a "new" team and NASCAR gave it to them. They are certainly not going to make it any more interesting, just another generic body on the track, only this one will have stickers that look like Toyota headlights on it instead.

And NASCAR will see this and make them run a restrictor plate, lower compression, etc and add ballast so they don't have a weight distribution advantage.

NASCAR is very serious about keeping the cars on an even playing field these days.

toyota figured out how to bypass the turbo restrictor in their rally car. this is why they don't race rally anymore. BANNED

It's not uncommon for NASCAR to completely rip down a winners car from top to bottom.

Remember, unlike Rally which is a "world" sport, NASCAR is still largely a bunch of rednecks who don't want to see a Toyota built car do well. They will be under the microscope of NASCAR and other teams for sure.

toyota was only banned from rally one year, its actually the steepest suspension ever in motorsport history. they came back for another year and said fuck this I'm going to F1. Hell, if they can apply what they've done in rally and f1 to nascar then they're gonna be the shit. now all they need is somebody like Colin Mcrae to drive it and really start tradin paint

NASCAR sucks big donkey nutz!! who the hell wants to drive around in circles? they got no skills.. they make the same turn over n over again..wuts the fun in that? if they were drifting they would be more fun to watch but they dont and they suck. only cool part of that race is how fast they go...

I'm by far not the biggest NASCAR fan in the world, but only because I find it less than exciting to watch. But if you think the skills of the drivers are anything less than amazing, you're very wrong.

And FYI, they are drifting around nearly the entire track. It may not be apparent to the casual observer, but those cars are sliding around every turn. The difference is they are doing it at nearly 200mph and inches from other cars.

yea pete keep hittin that "nnaaaawwwssss".... haha why are you jockin me holmes... i wasnt that serious... i know nascar drivers have skills n all that jazz but relly, i mean lets face it.. for an african-american in 2006... nascar just sucks. its boring. i love cars and racing and all but i dunno maybe if the cameras in nascar got a lil more zoomed-in views or better angles.. also its still boring just driving in circles.... but yea man why you gota catch feelings n all...

dont they hit a road course a few times. ive seen it and to be honest thats the only nascar i can watch. do you really need 500 laps in a circle. skill or no skill after the 5th lap it all looks the same boring until you get a crash. now this is my opinion so please take it easy on the responses.

I think the short tracks like Bristol and Darlington are fun to watch because the action is so tight and there's barely any room to pass. Lots of accidents/cautions change the pace of the race constantly as well.

But like I've heard many people say over and over again about Nascar, you only need to tune into the last 5 minutes of the race to see the whole race.

pretty much, that is why I cant watch it. Nothing to do with the skills of the drivers, I just cant watch it for any length of time without getting bored.
