I dont know if anyone else has had this happen, but recently i tried to post things for sale on different DSM sites, as anyone who is trying to sell these specific parts would normally do, and the only site that gives me trouble is SJDSM. They erase my posts all the time. I dont understand why the moderators of SJDSM are such tight asses. Our store here in NJDSM lets everyone post doesnt it?> Its there so we can sell our parts and also is helpful to other dsm'ers looking for local parts etc etc. Well, SJDSM claims that if you dont contribute regularly to the site then you are not entitled to sell anything on their board, even if you are a registered user and Dsm owner in jersey. I dont really get what the point of that is, its keeping people in SJDSM from possibly getting parts they need and its inihibiting other dsm'ers from selling parts they no longer need. Aren't the DSM communities suppose to be helping each other? Just my .2 cents

If that is their rules, then that is their rules. I'm a bit more "objective" in the matter as long as it's a worthwhile / legit post. There are other forums that I know of that have similar guidelines, but again, to each board their own.

On SJ DSM, there were recently a lot of people that signed up just to sell parts on the board. A lot of the active members were basically screwed over by the people that were selling these parts.
To avoid that happening again, they started that new rule. I, for one, thought it was a great idea. I know what it feels like to send someone money and never receive the part.

I agree with the rule. It ucks getting beat for money, I lost $350 that way. At least if you are a member that we know of, we would be more inclined to buy/sell/trade with you. If anyone from here would like to sell to sjdsm members, I would suggest pm'ing the mod of the site and just say, "I'm from njdsm, well known, yada yada...." Joe says you have to be approved from the mods to post. People are just disregarding that and posting anyway.

I would also expect those who are thinking about buying, to have some common sense and buy from people they either know or know of.

In the grand scheme of things the internet has made everybody's life more accesible to everyone elses, it was a new technology and it was concived in anarchy. Years later when the technology has finally caught up and people can start to "lock down" the internet a bit everyone is complaining, except those who were taken advantage of. Have you seend the identity theft statistics? Ontop of people getting ripped off, that type of policy "should" greatly reduce the good guy/bad guy drama when for the most part you should be dealing with good people. I know most think nabr guys are too strict, but their trader plicies are similar, you can't even see the trader until you get to a certain status and no one has been ripped off by a fellow nabr member, and any issues that they do have get resolved. (like someone taking too long to ship parts and whatnot). I have been trying to think of a way to weed out the "active and hopefully trustworthy" members from the trolls, but haven't come up with good way that wouldn't piss off too many people.

Yeah some of the SJ people saw that dam controversy i went through with that dirtygermankid. I thought he was around for a while but i should have checked into it more. Plus hes a moderator on some sj racing site. Took like 2 months to get my shit, and only after they threatened to ban him. After that i deffinitly dont mind their rule, it was annoying as hell. And i thank the sjdsm moderators for helping me get my shit.
