So most of you have heard about my shitty luck lately with cars. I sold the talon and picked up a 99 Acura 3.0 CL. I bought the car over a week ago and was able to drive it only one day because of all the problems I've had with it. Everything is being fixed (trans, alternator, alignment, sunroof) but I just think it's bad luck for me...I dunno. So i'm selling that and picking up a 95 talon ESi for cheap to just get around in. I was talking to Kyle about this before and I thought the ESi had the 420a motor, and he thought it had the 4g63 non turbo motor. Just wanted to see if anyone knew anything about this...thanks.

jeff what in god's name are you talking about?!?!?!?! i hope to god you mean boostlagged when you say kyle said. I never said 2g n/t's had a 4g63... i dont know what kinda crack your smoking if you think i said that but i wanna get ahold of some. The 2gnt's came with a piece of poop 420a motor, I would have never confused the two

Even thought it's a "neon" motor, it's pretty reliable. I had 2 friends that had 2G nt and they were reliable cars both with 120k+ on the odometer.

I mean Kyle Swanky, not Simms....

anyway, the reason I'm getting the nt talon is b/c i need something to just get me around till i scrounge up enough money to buy something i really want. this car seems reliable enough for me and cheap, and i've already had the same car....except it had a turbo on it and awd :( . this is only temporary, no worries.

Just one question, why would you pick up a 3.0 CL if there were so many problems with it? I mean, they had to have been apparent before you bought the car, no? Acuras/Hondas are extremely reliable if taken care of properly.

well when i bought the car, everything seemed fine except for the sunroof and the alignment that was needed. the guy agreed to fix both before i bought the car. he told me he'd get it done in one day...it took him 3 days and just got the sunroof fixed. then when i got it back it still needed an alignment. he promised to fix it the following week. then the battery died and realized the alternator was shot. and on the way to bringing the car back to the guy's house, the trans went. i had no idea the trans was bad. but everything is getting fixed.

the reason i bought it in the first place was because i thought it was going to be a problem free car. and even though everything is getting fixed now, I just think it is bad luck and I shouldn't own that car. back to taloon's for me.

If you like the CL coupes, you may want to try and find them at a dealer that offers a 1 year/12k mile warranty. I have come across quite a few late 90s style CLs at Acura dealers.

yea...it's a nice car....but I dunno....I'd rather have a dsm, or something similar. the main reason i got the car was because of its reliability. but if i'm not going to enjoy driving it, its not worth it to me. i'm trying to save up some money and get something from a dealership though. like a certified used vehicle or whatever. we'll see. anyway, check my post in "store", i have a post for the acura.
